Ever since I first watched What Not To Wear, you have been an incredible inspiration to me. I fell in love with the show, for the hilarious remarks, the craziness, and the fun of it all. Then I started to see how many people you have changed. My favorite became seeing the transformation. So many people have gotten so much out of the experiences. You have one of the coolest jobs ever, and man you are doing an incredible job with it. I love everything you do; you take on so many challenges!
You, Stacy, have helped so many people! Not just on the show, but everywhere. Even here on Twitter! I find it so incredible, kind, and amazing that you take the time to write to all of us! I remember one time you said to someone on Twitter: “Just be who you are, love who you are, do your best and be kind. Everything else will take care of itself. :)” That totally touched my heart! Then I said to you how incredible that was, and how amazing you are! I didn’t expect a reply, but you said, “And so my Dear, are you.” That made me smile for days Stacy!! Days! I felt amazing.
It is great to finally be able to talk to the person that I have always idolized from behind the TV screen! You, Stacy, are the one of the greatest role models a girl could ever have. Ever!! I struggle so much with my confidence, and you don’t know it but you have helped me tremendously! Just by watching you and taking in the things you say, it makes me try to be a better person. I feel more and more confidence every day, and a lot of it is thanks to YOU! You showed me that everyone is special. Everyone is beautiful! I needed that! You are a hero. You are strong, confident, and an amazing person. I hope to be as great as you in the future. Words can only skim the surface of describing you Stacy. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Stacy London my inspration and role model 4 life<3
I have never known anybody like Stacy London. She inspires me everyday to look my best and love myself and be the best “me” that I can be. When I started highschool I wasn’t very confident in myself and I was very shy, and didn’t dress that great, but when I started watchin WNTW Stacy and Clinton taught me how to love my body and dress it well. I had those days where I really didn’t want to go to school, it felt like people were always staring at me and making me feel like I wasn’t pretty. I used to start beliving them that I wasn’t pretty or good enough to do anything. You showed me that I can make my dreams happen and that I should love and respect myself , no one else can be me but me. When I look in the mirror now I see a beautiful, strong, confident, loving girl staring back at me, who also inspires to have a “Shut up” wardrobe. We can change the world every time we’re a bit nicer to someone else. :) - Stacy London Stacy you are like a big sister and best friend to me and I would love to meet you one day and be able to talk to you in person, it would be a dream come ture! There is no one else in the WORLD like you and I can’t thank you enough how much you inspired and changed my life. I LOVE YOU STACY LONDON!!<3<3
There have been many mornings these past few years where I woke up just absolutely not wanting to go to school. EVERYONE does that; but the question is, do all the other people have a role model to think about that can brighten their day and put a smile on their face all the time?! Stacy, anytime I think about what a positive and confident person you are, and how lucky I am to have someone like that, it instantly makes my day 10x better!! You’re attitude and outlook have truly changed MINE. It’s amazingly unbelievable, so thank you!!!
I can’t articulate how much you mean to me and how much you’ve done for me. I’m going to try, though, and hopefully it comes out okay. You’re such an amazing, warm, friendly person who genuinely cares about what you tell me and others. It amazes me how you can be so kind and wonderful to someone you’ve never even met before, and how you can put a smile on my face whenever you send me a message. Sure, you’re a fashion expert, stylist, and co-host of the most amazing show on television, but you’re really so much more than that to me. So many celebrities don’t bother to read what their fans write them. So many celebrities have assistants answer their fan mail or tweets. But not you. You take the time out of your already hectic schedule to read what your fans write, and to reply to them yourself. You don’t have assistants answer your tweets for you, rather you write to your fans yourself. You even sent us autographs, took time to personalize each and every one of them according to the individual who was to receive it, and sent it to us. Most people wouldn’t have sent us autographs, they would’ve just said, “Oh, I’m too busy” or, “Not now”. But you’re not like most people. You not only sent, but personalized each and every persons’ autograph. People like you, Stacy, are rare, and come around once in a blue moon. You show people that they don’t have to be a blonde with blue eyes who’s six feet tall and a size 2 to be beautiful. You show people that they don’t have to be in that box that the media has created to be beautiful. You show us that beauty comes in every shape and size imaginable, and that it’s not specific to just that box, but rather that everyone is beautiful because they are themselves. You’ve showed me that, and I can’t thank you enough. You’ve taught me to be confident in myself, and to hold my head up high. You’ve told me things that I will never forget. You’ve been such an amazing person to me, and for that, Stacy London, I can’t thank you enough. xoxo, Your Twitter Pal:)
It’s only every so often that someone special comes around, someone that can always brighten your day and make you instantly feel better about yourself. Well, Stacy, you are truly one of those people. You have honEstly changed my life so much in these past few months and I don’t know where I would be without you. Not only has my fashion improved DRASTICALLY, but I also have you as a huge inspiration in my life. My friends and family all know you are my hero, and forever will be. Whenever I go out, I just can’t help but think "That person needs Stacy!" or if someone looks fab, I’ll usually let out a "SHUT UP" or "SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!" You are definitely the most beautiful person on the inside and out. You rise above all of the glitzy celebrities who could really care less about their fans. In taking the time to communicate or even send autographs, you have shown once again just how truly amazing and incredible you are. I don’t think words can ever describe how much you mean to me and how much I’d like to thank you for making me a better, more confident person, but here it goes..
Stacy, I love you and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me who I am today and I really, really hope we get to meet in the near future.
I know I’ve only been on twitter for a short, few weeks…but I have been trying to follow you for years because you are truly a one-of-a-kind individual. It’s really hard to explain all the things you and WNTW have brought to my life. For once, I’m starting to smile more, look more put together, lose weight, and just try and be happy for myself and every person I care about. While I know you would still probably scoff at a lot of items I have in my closet; more importantly, I know you would see that I am trying to be my best. It is a really hard world out there, but somehow having a beautiful and honest piece of you in it makes it seem a little better. God bless you!
P.S. I know this isn’t a lot because you have touched my life so much, but I will be forever grateful. <3
You've Been My INSPIRATION. Through the Lies You Were the Truth.
As you know, I’m absolutely horrible when it comes to articulating my feelings, so please bear with me! :)
I don’t know if I will ever be able to fully convey just how thankful I am for all of the advice and encouragement you’ve given me. You are truly an inspiration to me. My world would be so much darker without you in it. Your caring words and encouragement have gotten me through days where I felt completely hopeless. Talking to you has truly been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. My talks with you mean the WORLD to me. Although I’m having a hard time with things right now, I don’t feel quite as lost and alone because I know I can always count of you to be there for me with your kind, caring, & encouraging advice. And it’s comforting to know I have someone who cares about me and who is rooting for me. You are the reason I was able to build up enough confidence to start going out with my friends again, like I used to. You told me, “Kiddo, NEVER let your wardrobe keep you from going OUT. Live your life to the fullest no matter WHAT (even if you wear a tee)!” I read this quote all the time in an attempt to remind myself that just because I’m having a bad body image day, it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t allow myself to live my life.
I also don’t think I would have made it to my boyfriend’s date party without your kindhearted pep talks and FAB fashion advice. :) I remember actually feeling pretty that night and it was the first time I had felt that in a really long time. Even though things aren’t great right now, it helps just knowing that you believe in me. I have this quote you said to me written on my mirror right now: “You are a nutter butter. EVERYthing looks great on you. Come on Kid. Let yourself enjoy your beauty at least A LITTLE!” I’m not sure why, but this ALWAYS makes me smile, even when I’ve been crying and I’m having a horrible day.
This may sound cheesy, but every time I hear these lyrics it makes me think of you, because it describes what you have done for me way more eloquently than I can: “You’ve been my Inspiration. Through the lies you were the TRUTH. My World is abetter place because of YOU. You were my strength when I was weak. You were myeyes when I couldn’t see. You saw the BEST there was in me. You lifted me up when I couldn’t reach. You gave me faith because you believed.”
You have changed my life for the better and I don’t think I will ever be able to truly express how very grateful I am! Thank you Stacy!!!<3
((a.k.a. amy_nicole_)(Haha, Obvi?.. I KNOW! But everyone else did it & i didn’t want to feel left out!)
Stacy you are such a Positive influence in my life. You have taught me that you don’t have to be the stereotypical blond hair blue eyes to be beautiful =) .. Before i started to watch what not to wear i had no confidence to wear anything. I wore over-sized sweat shirts and jeans everyday. But now you have taught me its okay to wear things that will make people look at you, just make them look at you in a good way. I remember there was a episode were you said if people are going to look at you and talk its better for them to say oh wow i love that shirt over wow who is that slump :) That made me think. You have also taught me you can wear whatever makes you happy as long as it fits! Thank you so much for being such a great role model .. you are a inspiration to us all… <3 Thank you so much for giving me the confidence that i need for everyday life. :)
I am going to start out by saying GO VASSAR!! This campus has seen a number of great people walk through its halls. Some of the greatest minds have been molded in these classrooms. Vassar has released on to the world activist, journalist, Pulitzer Prize winning novelists, and even a Poet Laureate. All these people were amazing but to most of us they are just names etched into the history book of this campus. What still amazes me is that not all that long ago you were standing where I am standing today. Contemplating your future just as I am. Trying to carve out a path and trying to make a name for yourself. You most definitely made a name for yourself and you left a number of young women a legacy to rise up too. You left us huge shoes to fill. Your successful career is only a small part of that. Your heart, your spirit, your willingness to give back, that is your greatest gift to us. Being famous means nothing if your heart is not in the right place. We see it all the time, people who could have changed the world, if they had only cared. Sometimes we get lucky and we find people like you, Ms. London. You have such a big heart, your kindness changes lives everyday and one person at a time you truly are making the world a little better. So as I sit in my dorm room tonight and contemplate my future, I can only hope that I can do Vassar as much justice as you have done it. When I step into the real world I hope that I can greet it with the kind love and compassion that you have shown it. I would be lucky to become even half the woman that you are today. Thanks for showing me what it means to be a true Vassar Woman!!
I just wanted to say Thank You for all that you do. This world can be scary and unkind and it sometimes seems to push us towards ideals that are not safe and people that are not real. There is always someone willing to show us the wrong road, someone willing to point out our faults and our failures and give us thousands of reason why we are not quite good enough. It is hard to find someone that is truly worth looking up too. Tons of us have found that in you. You have taught so many of us that there is nothing wrong with being ourselves and that we all have special qualities that have nothing to do with what we look like or the size we wear. You really are a beautiful person. Occasionally, a truly special person comes along with the ability, to not only touch lives, but change them for the better. I hope you know and always remember that you are one of those truly special people. The most important thing I have learned from you is that a kind word or a listening ear can go a long way. On days when I am in a bad mood or so consumed in my own problems that I just don’t want to deal with anyone, I try to remind myself that you make time for us and that the least I can do in return is offer a kind word to someone else. Thanks for being you and for offering me a road worth taking and someone worth looking up too!
Nicole M. (Perfectlines)
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. - Leo Buscaglia
Stacy, meeting you last night was the most incredible thing that EVER could have happened to me. You’re such an inspiration to me, and you’ve truly made me realize HOW I want to be and WHAT I want to be when I’m older. And for that, I can’t thank you enough! I plan to follow much more in your footsteps than you’ll probably ever know <3 When I heard you say “Where’s Krista?!” in the middle of the auction in front of 350+ people, I legit almost fainted! You’re such an AMAZING and gorgeous person, inside AND out! What else can I say?! Thank you Stacy!
&& I fight to keep it in cause this one's for you...
I’m not really a mooshy, “oh em gee you’re my idol” type -but I do have to say Ms.London -youre some sort of a weakness. I feel a bit at a disadvantage because all of these other girls have adored you for years when I’ve only known your name for a little under just one. Nontheless, you are incorporated into my everyday life. I walk down the street && I have this thing where when I see someone dressed horribly I say “Stacy London.” Just because I know you’d have a sh*t fit if you saw them. Not sure how I picked that one up, it just happened lol. It’s actually really funny. Anyway, you have this way of making everyone either around you or talking to you feel extremely happy && I believe it’s because you radiate gorgeousness from the inside and out. There aren’t many stunning women with an outstanding heart in the world, you should be extremely honored to be one of the very few. Stacy, meeting you was pure luck for me. I had heard of Fashion Night Out awhile back, and of course was planning on becoming apart of it. When I heard you would be at AnnTaylor Loft -I flipped a lid. Especially since I go to class just a few Aves up! I could not put my camera away, as you noticed. It wasn’t because I wanted to get as many pictures of you as possible-it was just proof for me that the moment was real. I figured the more pictures, the more proof I have of something I probably would have thought to be a dream later on… So to sum it all up I’m pretty much in love with you…haha I’m fooling around but isn’t that how this all sounds?- not so good on the “expressing how I feel" kind of thing- certainly not my forte. loll. But the real sum up of all of this is that I am extremely happy to have been introduced to WNTW, and completely honored to have met you. Like I said before…Keep being you, because you’re changing the world.
Stace… I told u on twitter I ended up dreaming about ya last night. I remember most of the dream because that is how much the dream meant to me. I remember my reaction when I saw u show up at my house and starting bawling… yes you were definitely stylish of course you always are… I also remember me saying in my dream “wait I need to tweet about this.” It felt soooo real and when I woke up I did actually tear up realizing that it was a dream. Im sorry being sensitive I can’t help… but I know that I woke up this morning with a smile on my face. :)
Stacy, I genuinely apotheosize you. You are a truly an exceptional role model for anybody. We often get mesmerized by the glittery outlook of celebrities and like to idolize them. Unfortunately most of them fall short of being a true icon when we look at their personal life out of the red carpet. These people are no different than any of us and in some cases worse than most of us. A lot of them fail to stand up to their good name and handle fame. On the otherhand, you Stacy rise above the others, and are an astounding person. I do believe that when we face challenges in life that are far beyond our own power, it’s an opportunity to build on our faith, inner strength, and courage. I’ve learned that how we face challenges plays a big role in the outcome of them. The guidance you given was essential for me to understand that I have the potential to change society.
Stacy you are such a Positive influence in my life. It’s such a wonder how in the world I stay grounded on both feet, you are the reason. You smile, I smile. You have touched my life in a way that I didn’t know was possible, and Im almost certain you have touched many other lives as well. You truly made my dream come true when I met you on September 15. I’d been praying I’d be able to meet you and God answered my prayers! You’re literally my light on dark days. I couldn’t of picked a better Role model, and I know that you will be with me for the rest of my life. You’re such a caring person, that has already made such a difference in this world. Im so grateful for all of the times you’ve opened my eyes. When people ask me who my hero is, I say “Stacy London.” Your strength, confidence and courage has taught me to be a better person. You’ve changed my life for the better.
Hi my name is Caroline. I just want to say I agree with Jaclyn it was great finding you on twitter. You have an amazing heart. You are a busy person with thousands of things going on and you still take the time to answer questions, just say hi, or offer a pep talk. It is crazy because even though most of us have never met you we feel like we know you and like you know us. It is amazing how in just 140 characters you can make someones day better. Above all, look what you have created with twitter. You have brought to gather hundreds of people who had never met and created a community. People that have met through you now turn to each other for advice. We offer each other encouragement and a shoulder to lean on when the day has been rough or a pat on the back for a job well done. In a society that seems to encourage cattiness you have inspired people to turn toward the positive and love ourselves and others that alone is a pretty amazing thing. The desire to give back was drawn from you…it is PAY IT FORWARD STACY LONDON STYLE!! So thanks for being a positive influence in so many lives
I want to start out by saying me, Jaclyn, has always looked up to you Stacy and have looked up to you for years. When I first starting watching WNTW, seeing how you touched and changed the lives of so many amazing people got me thinking. Stacy finding you on twitter to talk to personally is still like a dream come true. You have introduced me to amazing girls who I now talk to just about everyday. I don’t know what I would do without any of them. You have brought together so many amazing people. I have been going through lots lately, and You have definitely impacted my life in so many ways. Stacy you always seem to make me tear up when I hear from you. I know you always tell me “NO CRYING,” but I cannot help it Im sorry Im sensitive. You have given me lots of advice and have definitely helped me with my confidence and self-esteem. I don’t know how much to thank you but to keep on writing. One of my major dreams is to meet you one day. I can assure you there will be tears when I meet you for the first time. There is no one really like you that I know of and I am so glad you have come into my life, and I know you will always be here for me. Stace, you give me strength each and everyday to just take it one day at a time, and I really appreciated it all. I know think of you all the time. I know I need help finding my style; Im not there yet and I look forward to you helping me in the future.
I want to share something with everyone what u have told me on twitter : “Good. Just be who you are, love who you are, do your best and be kind. Everything else will take care of itself. :)”
